About
TomRed’s Stuff, tomred.org, or until September 2012, thomas-reddington.com is a website I have been passively running for six years, and started it off back when I was a mere fifteen year old.
The Stuff
12th September 2008 was the official launch of this site. It was mainly a blog but had my 100 things list. The blog was terrible. It had weekly videos swiped from YouTube every Friday until 2011, but other than that I barely made posts that were worth reading. Most posts back then were about news topics, about which I had very little knowledge, or I was just sharing something entertaining, and so I was acting as an unnecessary middleman. Weekly videos were almost always something thought of about five minutes before posting one, as I was far too busy (lazy) to dig up good material without stumbling upon it. Hence, there were a lot of ‘Funniest beer commercials’ and so on from time to time. To be fair, without them the site would’ve been a lot less active. It was a nice obligation that prevented me from not posting for over a year (whoops). Now, I personally think blog content, even though it’s now a lot less regular (sorry), has rather improved from then; my posts are generally longer and have a purpose, and I have since purged a lot of my earlier posts, along with all weekly videos.
The site itself initially never really had a purpose; I just wanted a site. I was really pleased when I found Weebly, by accident, as it pretty much offered a feature-filled deal that I wanted that was also free of charge. The site gained cyclical attention due to my A-level stuff section, launched in December 2009, based on a simple idea of hunting down exam papers and other material for my courses that would be useful for me, organising them for my benefit, and sharing them on a site section to those doing the same courses as me. Most find this the hub of my site as it actually has (apparently) helped people’s results, and I’ve met between five and ten people who were users of the A-level stuff section even though we didn’t know each other. People who know of me through friends have also bumped into this in the exam rush.
As the blog contains a collection of posts and pages written between the ages of 15 and 22, the content and writing style ranges drastically. Although I have joyously removed many of the more cringeworthy posts (I’m looking at you, sixteen year old TomRed), you will likely still find poorly written and foul-mouthed content. Though, I do contend that profanity in itself is harmless when used appropriately.
I changed the domain in September 2012 (around the fourth birthday), to tomred.org. I preferred a shorter name and a .org title. For the future I would like to have some sort of webcomic series, something I’ve been badgering on about for years, but that’s currently not practical given my lack of time (read: ideas), and I’d also like to polish the A-level revision guides I have stagnating in my hard drive.

The TomRed
For about eight years now I’ve been commonly referred to by many as TomRed. Being close friends with several Toms, it was understandably a surviving meme. I was born in April 1993 and I’m at the ripe old age of twenty-two. I studied Mathematics at the University of Warwick and currently live in London.
The nonsense I’ve posted over the years will give some insight into what I’m like. I’m a Beatles man in the music department and have a false sense of nostalgia for oldish music in general, as well as a love (but no talent) for classical music. I make people feel uncomfortable with my memory of certain dates, but on the other hand tend to forget what I was saying mid-sentence. I have a crippling tea addiction that might lead to a bank robbery if my finances dry up. Beyond being a terrible mathematician, I’m interested in history (particularly 20th century history) and science in general, and my hobbies include homebrewing, programming and pretending to ballroom dance.
